.
Description
The author created this artwork on the occasion of 「雛祭り」“Hinamatsuri”, aka “Doll’s Day” or “Girl’s Day”, a spring festivity consists in praying for young girls' growth and happiness.
The primary aspect of “Hinamatsuri” is the display of seated male and female dolls: respectively, 「男雛」 “obina” and 「女雛」“mebina”, which represent a Heian period (794 - 1185) wedding.
The kanji reads 「天真爛漫」“tenshinranman” and means “innocence”.
