Description
Some spring vegetables, in Japanese「春野菜」“haruyasai”, are the protagonists of this artwork.
It reads: “Look at the blue sky and take a new breath” (「青い空見て新呼吸」“Aoi sora mite shinkokyū”).
The author emphasizes the importance of leaving the past behind and having a new optimistic attitude for the present. A new regenerating breath like the freshness of the spring vegetables.
Also, there is a play on words with the term used for this sentence: 「新呼吸」“shinkokyū”, “new breath”, and the term 「深呼吸」“shinkokyū”, “deep breath”, are in fact homonyms.
