Description
A rockfish, in Japanese 「鮴」”mebaru”, is the protagonist of this artwork.It reads:「春を告げる魚」”Haru wo tsugeru sakana” and means literally “the fish that with its arrival, heralds the beginning of spring”. In fact, the rockfish is identified as one of the spring-announcing animals.
